DIRECTIONS FOR APPLICATION: Concrete must be allowed to cure a minimum of 28 days. All repointing must be completed and allowed to cure for at least 3 days. Concrete replacement and repair must be completed prior to product application. Patching materials, caulking, sealing materials and traffic paint must be fully cured prior to applying STONESAVER Water Repellent.
All surfaces must be cleaned to remove all traces of curing compounds, coatings, efflorescence, dirt, dust, oil, grease, salt and other foreign materials. Acceptable surface cleaning methods include: Shotblasting, sandblasting, waterblasting, and chemical cleaners and strippers. Consult your STONESAVER representative to ensure that surface preparation is adequate.
STONESAVER Water Repellent may be applied over a damp surface although fully dry surfaces are preferred to achieve maximum penetration into the substrate. Ensure to remove any standing water prior to application.
A test application is essential on each surface to be treated to ensure product compatibility, accurate coverage rates and the desired water repellent results.
STONESAVER Water Repellent should be applied using low pressure / high volume sprayer < 35 psi. 3+ g.p.m. with a wet fan spray tip. Sprayer, hoses and gaskets must be solvent resistant.
Horizontal: Working from lowest elevated area, spray surface until full saturation is reached (pond for at least 5 seconds) and remains moist for a few minutes. Back roll any pooling areas 30 seconds after spraying. If a second coat is required, it should be applied after the first coat is absorbed but still moist.
Vertical: On vertical surface apply STONESAVER Water Repellent in a flooding spray application from the bottom up working side to side with a run down of 6" to 8" below the spray line. All run off product should be diked and absorbed with sand or kitty litter and disposed of according to local government regulations. Avoid plastic or specially coated windows.
COVERAGE: 100 - 200 sq. ft. per US Gallon. Coverage can vary dramatically with the type and porosity of the surface. True coverage rates can only be determined by a test application.
